Take the cable car up to the fortress

The breathtaking trip across the Rhine and up to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress will be one of the highlights of your visit to the Federal Horticultural Show Koblenz 2011. At almost 850 metres in length and carrying up to 7000 passengers per hour, the aerial cable car is one of the largest of its kind in Europe outside the Alps. The 18 panoramic cabins promise spectacular views over the “Upper Middle Rhine Valley” World Heritage Site. And for your special enjoyment, one of the cabins has a glass floor. In a matter of minutes, visitors will be whisked up to the gorgeous vibrancy of the flower halls and grounds of the venerable fortress of Ehrenbreitstein. In the interior rooms of the fortress visitors will be able to enjoy the “Rhineland Palatinate Showcase” – an exhibition which captures the essence of this particular German state and its people. Events and concerts will be taking place at regular intervals in the inner courtyard of the fortress.

And there’s an added bonus for all our visitors – each guest at the Federal Horticultural Show Koblenz 2011 will enjoy one return journey on the aerial cable car free of charge.
